Music at Immanuel
Music is an important part of our worship life at Immanuel. Martin Luther says,
"... next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world. ... A person
who gives this some thought and yet does not regard music as a marvelous creation of God, must
be a clodhopper indeed and does not deserve to be called a human being; he should be permitted to
hear nothing but the braying of asses and the grunting of hogs."
Choir
Immanuel's choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm from September through
mid-June. Choir practices include lots of laughs as well as lots of singing. The choir enjoys singing
often during worship to give glory to God through song.
Instrumentalists
All who play an instrument are welcome to provide special music for worship or with the choir. On the
fourth Sundays of most months, guitarists and other instrumentalists are invited to help lead the music
along with the guitar and piano in a more contemporary worship format.
